Starting something meaningful takes faith. Sustaining it takes a community willing to keep showing up.

Across the world, Swamp Camps are creating spaces where young people can build relationships, grow in their faith, and learn what it means to lead by serving others. But the work does not end when a camp has been established. Each year brings new needs, new opportunities, and another group of young people who could benefit from being part of that community.

And some years bring something harder. A war, a government decision, or an economic downturn can put a camp that has served young people for years in danger of not happening at all. Most years, there is at least one camp like that, a camp that simply needs help to keep its doors open.

We call it a Macedonia opportunity.

When believers in Jerusalem were in need, the churches of Macedonia answered. Paul wrote that "in the midst of a very severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity." They "gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability," and "urgently pleaded" for "the privilege of sharing in this service to the Lord’s people" (2 Corinthians 8:2–4). Help a Camp is our chance to do the same: to see a need in the family of God and count it a privilege to meet it.

A little goes a long way. At one of our camps in the Middle East, it takes only $4,000 to put on the entire camp for about 70 people for five days. That is about $57 a person for a week that can change a life.

A camp is more than a location or an annual event. Over time, it becomes a place where relationships deepen, leaders grow, and young people have opportunities to experience the love of Christ through a community that welcomes them.

Keeping that space available requires commitment. It requires local leaders who continue to invest their time and energy, young people who are willing to serve, and partners who believe that this work is worth sustaining.

That is where you come in.

Your investment can help support the continuation of camp and stand alongside the people already working to make it happen. And when you give, you can also help encourage local fundraising efforts, strengthening the partnership between those serving on the ground and those supporting them from afar.

We do not invest in a camp simply because it has a history. We invest because there are still lives to be reached, relationships to be built, and leaders to be equipped.

The next camper has not yet arrived. The next counselor is still learning. The next story of faith may still be waiting to unfold.

We will do our best to honor your request; however, all donations are subject to the organization's Gift Acceptance Policy. The Organization will treat the donor’s designations as suggestions unless the Board of Directors has approved of the designations before receiving the gift.
